The MUBC Junior Academy is built on the philosophy and training methodology of Melbourne University Boat Club performance rowing. We aim to provide established Year 11 athletes, boys and girls with opportunities to learn and develop their techniques and rowing understanding from our experienced National and State Title winning coaching team in an inspiring and fulfilling learning environment.
The Academy program presents a pathway of opportunity for athletes to train alongside MUBC squads that comprise the highest number of Australian Under 23 representatives of any club from the past two seasons. Participating athletes will also be eligible to compete with MUBC in Under 19 Events at the 2024 Australian Rowing Championships. Opportunities are being developed for ambitious and aspiring athletes to experience the 2024 Henley Royal Regatta in the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup and the Prince Philip Challenge Trophy.
The program will commence Monday 22 May and will conclude at the end of Term Three, around 15 September and comprise three before school morning sessions per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday with an option of Saturday morning. Where clashes occur with School commitments, School comes first.
The cost per athlete is $660 and includes an official MUBC race zootie, tee-shirt and exclusive MUBC training membership through to March 2024. Make 2024 your best season ever and book your place now.
