John Hall Scholarship Winners announced
The University of Melbourne have announced co-winners of the John Hall Scholarship supporting MUBC athletes studying at the University. Congratulations to Eliza Gaffney and Felix Oliver on their scholarships, both great ambassadors for their University, MUBC and sport.
Winter sculling
Great to see MUBC Masters out and about at the resumed Winter Sculling competition. Tomorrow sees Round Two of the Handicap series with scullers racing from Cremorne Bridge to VRA Landing.
Junior Development program evening last Friday
Around seventy athletes and parents from the Junior Development program enjoyed a very pleasant Friday evening at the Boat Club last week. President Christian Ryan and Head Coach Matt Ryan spoke of the opportunities at MUBC and shared a little of the excitement of our Senior and Under 23 representatives as they prepare for the World Championships in Varese, Italy in July.
Trans-Tasman Regatta
MUBC Under 21 representatives Liv Rosaia, Felix Oliver and coach Tom Minifie have arrived back at MUBC after a successful and enjoyable Trans-Tasman regatta on Lake Burley Griffin in the ACT. The Australian Team made a clean sweep of all races and MUBC congratulates our athletes and coach on their achievements.
World Cup 2 – Poznam
Congratulations to MUBC athlete Lucy Stephan on winning Gold in the Womens Four at World Cup 2, Poznam. It was great to see other MUBC athletes competing as well, Eliza Gaffney Womens Pair, Jean Mitchell Womens 8+ and Bronze medal, Simon Keenan and Rohan Lavery, Mens 8+ and Silver medal.
The Octo is back!
Thanks to MUBC Masters led by Greg Longden in making ready the Melissa Carter 8+ rigged as an Octo! For members wanting to put together a crew to enjoy the Octo for a morning row please make contact.
Dredging around the Landing
Dredging works have commenced upstream of the landing with all planned works scheduled to be completed on 16 July. Please be aware of changing restrictions and hazards when using the landing and the river at all times.
