MUBC Rowers representing all over the world!
MUBC rowers have recently been racing overseas with Richard Saul racing in the F1x at the All Japan Masters Championship Regatta held at Kumamoto in Kyushu last weekend. Richard also raced in the H4x with the Waseda Keio Masters Club. Richard won both his events. We believe this is the first time a composite crew with an MUBC member has won at this regatta.
We also had a Women's Coxless Four racing in China over the weekend. The rowers in the crew were Sarah Burger, Alex Sommerville, Eliza Lawson, Sam Caddeye, and Brigid McKeagney-Douglas. These girls had a great time embracing the Chinese culture and enjoying the atmosphere of an international regatta. Congratulations to all for representing MUBC so well.
We have more rowers going overseas in the coming months with a Men's Four and Men's Pair to race at Henley Royal Regatta along with some local lead up regattas. We have rowers competing for Australia as part of the Under 21 team. There is also a Men's Eight going to China in late July.
Good luck to all the rowers chosen to represent Australia in the Under 21 TransTasman Regatta against New Zealand. A special mention must go to Charlotte Wirtz and Phoebe Georgakas MUBC members who are on the team. Go Charlotte and Phoebe!
Good luck to all the MUBC rowers going to Sydney for the under 23 selection trials to be given the opportunity to represent Australia at the Under 23 World Championships.
We will update all members about how the MUBC crews race in these regattas in the coming editions of this newsletter and on our website.
